Transaction Surveillance Analyst

Join the Financial Crime Operations department at Pleo, where we're on the front lines of safeguarding our customers and their funds. As a Transaction Surveillance Specialist, you are the ninja in the shadows 🥷, welding cutting-edge technology to fend off financial crime in ways the banking world has yet to witness 💫. This role is for the brave, responsible, and diligent individuals ready to tackle the complexities of the financial world 🕶.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Case Handling & Investigations: You will be the primary point of contact for level 2 case assessments and investigations using our advanced transaction surveillance tool. Deep dive into complex cases, utilising your expertise to unravel the intricacies of financial transactions and detect suspicious activities.
  • Risk Committee Presentations & SAR Recommendations: Play a critical role in the decision-making process by making Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) recommendations and presenting your findings effectively in risk committee meetings. Your insights will guide strategic decisions and influence our approach to managing financial crime risks.
  • FinCrime & Tech Projects: Contribute to internal projects aiming at the enhancement of our surveillance framework. Your role will involve the innovative integration of AI-powered tools to refine our monitoring processes and develop new methodologies for detecting financial crime.
  • Training: Your role will involve the training on observed patterns from your investigation work and assistance of Junior Analysts with BAU.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 3+ years of experience working within a FinTech, traditional financial institution, or regulatory body
  • Expert Investigator: Exceptional ability to follow up, assess, and investigate complex financial activities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Profound understanding of UK & EU AML regulations.
  • Effective Communicator: Outstanding communication skills, capable of presenting findings and recommendations clearly and persuasively in high-stakes environments.
  • Proactive Mindset: Self-driven and meticulous, always on the lookout for anomalies and risks, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Team player: Able to share knowledge and assist the rest of the team with the investigations.
