Customer Due Diligence / KYC Analyst
Messy spend management is tricky business. And tedious processes are a lose-lose situation for all involved, not just finance. At Pleo, we're changing that. We build spend solutions that make managing money seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike—with a vision to help all businesses ‘go beyond’.
The word ‘Pleo’ actually means ‘more than you’d expect’, and living by that mantra has been the secret to our success over the last 10 years.
Now, we’re at a pivotal moment in our journey; every move we make has a direct impact on our 40,000+ customers, our business, and our collective success. We need people who take pride in uncovering customer needs, who turn complex problems into simple solutions, challenge the way things are done (respectfully), and always aim high. With great ambitions driving us forward, we can’t say we’ve got this whole thing figured out. And frankly, that’s half the fun! What we can say is that we’re a driven, progressive, and, importantly, a kind bunch of 850+ people from over 100 nationalities, all committed to delivering the future of business spending, together.
We're looking for a Customer Due Diligence / KYC Analyst to join our Customer Due Diligence Operations Team at Pleo. In this role, you'll be on the front lines, assessing and verifying customer information, conducting due diligence on low, medium and high-risk accounts, and ensuring we're fully compliant with all AML regulations. You'll be a key part of the team focusing mostly, but not exclusively on the Nordic & Baltic region, using your keen eye for detail to protect Pleo and its customers.
If you’re excited about financial crime prevention and regulatory compliance, and you’re passionate about protecting a fast-growing financial institution from risk, this is the opportunity for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Perform standard customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews across our customer base, focusing on potential and existing high-risk corporate customers.
- Present cases to the Customer Risk Committee
- Execute ongoing monitoring of existing customers (ODD).
- Conduct ad-hoc remediation projects
- Identify risks and propose and implement applicable controls to mitigate them.
- Support peers and contribute to increasing the organisational capability of the team.
What you bring:
- 1–2 years of experience performing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for corporate high-risk clients.
- A solid understanding of high-risk industries and practical risk-mitigation approaches.
- Good knowledge of the end-to-end KYC and onboarding lifecycle.
- Familiarity with AML/KYC regulations and relevant industry guidance.
- Strong verbal and written English skills. Reading ability in a Scandinavian language is a plus for contextual research and document review.
- Comfort using AI tools to support analysis in a compliance setting.
- An ability to combine thorough, structured analysis with efficient delivery - you enjoy spotting patterns and bringing clarity to complex information while keeping cases moving and meeting team KPIs.
You’ll report to our Nordics & Baltics Customer Due Diligence Lead and work closely with remote teams across Europe and India. Our team is highly collaborative and focused on enabling a secure and efficient customer journey. You’ll also have the chance to partner with teams across Operations, Compliance, and Product to ensure success.
How you’ll develop in this role
In your first 6 months at Pleo, you’ll:
- Achieve end-to-end mastery of Pleo’s Know Your Customer (KYC) processes. This includes reviewing low, medium, and high-risk cases, solving complex due diligence challenges, and ensuring every customer meets regulatory standards without unnecessary friction.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including Sales, KYC Support, Compliance, and Framework teams, to help us find a scalable balance between fighting financial crime and championing the customer experience.
- Proactively manage a varied workload that includes complex onboarding cases and ongoing due diligence, providing reliable and detail-oriented support wherever the team needs it most.
- Become a strong contributor to the team's overall performance.
We’re committed to helping you develop your career, whether that means taking on bigger projects, stepping into leadership, or acquiring new skills in AI-driven knowledge systems.
