Head of Procurement

We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and fun Head of Procurement who will be responsible for coordinating and leading the procurement of SaaS-tooling and hardware across Pleo, as well as help us build our procurement infrastructure. 

You can expect to be dealing with a broad range of procurement-related tasks and projects. Some might require you to take out the trusty TI calculator, while other tasks might require you to take a few steps back, and observe things from a grander perspective aka. your excel spreadsheet. This work will include not just strictly the commercial side of the procurement process but also working with legal, security and other teams, taking the lead in building a far more sustainable, scalable and user-friendly procurement process that leads users from a new need through purchase to payment.

You can also expect to meet tons of new people from over 60 nationalities. 

Your daily “To-do” list will look like this, but not limited to this

  • Define and standardise procurement processes and policy and implement best practices across commercial, legal, infosec and other related areas. Set up policies and best practices across the procurement area.
  • Implement procurement tooling to manage the process in the best way for Pleo.
  • Ongoing oversight and continuous improvement of of procurement process including finding a great way to capture requests, and provide ongoing support across supplier selection through to post-implementation where we optimise for internal customer experiences making the process effortless.
  • Monitoring procurement budgets and cost control ensuring that procurement activities stay within project goals and budget constraints. Make real impact on Pleo’s cost base by driving the price negotiation process and achieving cost reduction targets.
  • Lead the development of the procurement function at Pleo, including developing the people and relationships needed to make this a success.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that take into account the context and category of the procurement request to optimise costs and minimise supplier risks.
  • Risk management, including identifying suppliers' potential risks and developing measures for risk mitigation on both a per-category and per-vendor basis.

You'll thrive in this role if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance legal or business administration.
  • 5-7 years  experience in building and managing procurement processes and teams in a scale up environment.
  • A proven track record in cost savings and risk management in procurement of SaaS and Technology solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to build relationships with internal customers and negotiate contracts.
  • Proven leadership and management skills including building and/or leading a growing team.
  • Built a procurement department before in a high-growth company/the tech industry.
  • Setting the strategy for the function and aligning it with wider company goals.
